RCGP is a Professional Scale Motorsports Racing Series. Our goal is to promote, improve and grow the sport of RC Racing globally by enhancing the enjoyment and visibility for everyone involved. RCGP provides an exciting racing format and value for money for racers on site, and the best possible coverage for fans online. Additionally RCGP continues to work towards joining full scale motorsports events in order to showcase our great form of racing in front of as large an audience as possible. In 2018 RCGP was a completely virtual series. Awarding points and creating content based on existing races, in order to familiarize the industry to a new format. During 2019 RCGP held its inaugural season. Hosted in Four different countries across three different continents. It consisted of four events, each with two races. Sadly during 2020 RCGP was ultimately interrupted by the global COVID pandemic. Currently preparations are underway for the 2021 season. RCGP races consist of two 1:8 th Nitro Buggy classes. The RCGP class, reserved for the 30 best drivers in the world, and an Open Class for everyone else. Manufacturers or sponsors field 1-2 driver teams in the RCGP class, which runs a new and more exciting format, of short qualifying races, followed by long gruelling mains. The Open class is for all the other racers, who are not part of an RCGP Team. The entry cap depends on the event. The format for the Open class is the current industry standard, of qualifying, followed by mains. RCGP actively works with the teams and manufacturers in the industry, in order to create better events, and a more productive environment for them to race in and promote their brands. One of RCGP’s commercial objectives is to recruit sponsors from outside of the industry so that the series can continue to grow and improve as a competition, live broadcast and post season documentary. Ultimately RCGP aims to build and present the series as the premier category of scale motorsport, helping to showcase all of RC, promoting participation across all sectors, perhaps even providing a path for young racers to be able to consider careers in the industry as professional RC drivers.
